This enchanting ground cover in Smith Woods (Trumansburg, NY) is the invasive species Vinca minor (periwinkle). It’s taken over large swaths of the forest floor. Signage in the woods informs visitors of its unwelcome existence in this space, yet I can’t deny how inviting it feels to walk this path.
