Bombax Tree

A stunning Bombax tree near St. Pete Pier in St. Pertersburg, Florida. We made a trip south recently, and this tree was nearing the end of its spring-time bloom of red flowers.

With its many foot holds and low boughs, my son couldn’t resist climbing on it, though we later read the sign asking visitors not to do so. I can understand the need to preserve it as best as possible considering it’s in a high-traffic area. It’s a beauty!
