Sunken Tree
I have this photo in an exhibition opening tomorrow (June 1) as part of the Cayuga Arts Collective spring show at the Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts. The show's theme this year is Drop by Drop, and when trying to decide what to submit, I thought of this photo from late 2021 taken at the Six Mile Creek Watershed in Ithaca shortly after my new (current) camera arrived.
I had gone with a plan to take some photos of the trees growing along the service road. From the vantage point of the road, the large pines with their uniform spacing and exposed trunks had always caught my eye. Despite my efforts to capture the treeline in the way I envisioned, it was this photograph that ended up being the best one from that December day.
